Chairman – Tim Williams
Tim Williams is serving Police Officer and is married with two daughters.
He joined the Metropolitan Police Service in March 1988, serving first in Orpington (now Bromley Borough). He transferred to Bow in East London (1992) before returning to South East London on promotion to work in Greenwich (1999). He is currently on the Territorial Support Group based in Catford and has been since 2004.
He took over as treasurer at the end of 2009 being experienced in this field purely by association, he is married to an accountant.
He is a member of the small but established Jewish community living in Kent.
Deputy Chair – Michael Loebenberg BSc(Hons)
After university, Michael began work as a regular police officer in August 2006. He has held a range of roles over his career, including response policing at Brent and Hackney Boroughs, working on a unit investigating fraud and beat crimes, running a Safer Neighbourhoods ward team, delivering the new Stop and Search performance framework and working on ANPR development, amongst other posts. As a Chief Inspector, he has worked at Bexley and Haringey Boroughs, and currently works on the Public Access Programme as part of Digital Policing.
Michael was a founding member of the Jewish Police Association and was originally elected to the position of Deputy Chair in 2008.
Association Secretary – Danny Phillips
Danny Phillips is a police officer with 27 years service. He is married with four children. He joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1987and was first posted on Camden Borough working on team for five years. In 1992 Danny moved to Barnet Borough and served there as the ‘beat officer’ for nine years. In 2001 he moved to the Human Resources Directorate – Recruitment Team working at Aybrook Street and then for two years at Empress State Building. In March 2008 Danny transferred to the Directorate of Training and Development and is employed there as a Recruit Instructor, teaching the Foundation courses for student officers and special constables.
Danny is a trained response driver, mentor, family liason officer, police trainer and recruitment officer.
Treasurer – Dr Sara Levene
Dr Sara Levene is a Medical Officer based at Empress State Building, with responsiblity for medical screening of applicants to the MPS.
Youth Officer – Daniel Morris
Daniel Morris started volunteering for the police as a Special Constable. He soon got involved with the JPA and became the JPA Youth Officer. He now works full time for the police as a constable having served on an Emergency Response Team and now as Designated Ward Officer. Daniel helps with recruitment and with school visits, working with other police officers to enhance the information Jewish children, young adults and potential recruits.
